Heavy Gauge Ventilation Q & A
1. How long do your products last?
Since our products are made of a heavier gauge Metal than our competitors (our products are mostly 26 gauge vs. 28 or 30 gauge products commonly found), they last from 10-30 years depending on the climate and location of installation and which of our materials or coatings you choose from. We offer our products in a choice of metals including Galvanized, Aluminum, Copper & stainless Steel. Additionally, we offer color powder coating solutions in order for our customers to perfectly match our products to the exterior of their buildings.
2. Do you provide Custom made products?
Our Ventilation product offering is very broad and many of our products would be considered "custom" to our competitors. However, we will always take a look at a customer's needs and as long as the work is economically and practically feasible we will produce the product for our customers. WE also partner with a powder coating operation to provide extra protection and a variety of color offerings.
3. What differentiates your product from the competition?
Our products have been utilized domestically and internationally for over 70 years. This customer base of residential and commercial users has provided us with extremely unique feedback regarding our products, their design, and Use. These products have evolved with the US Construction economy and now are assisting in the Green revolution of providing lower heating & cooling costs Through energy efficiency and whole House ventilation applications. We believe our friendly & prompt service, no minimum order requirement, and higher quality product line are what differentiate us from our Competition.
4. What are the benefits of Copper or Stainless?
Copper and Stainless products offer homeowners the opportunity to uniquely accent their homes with beautiful metal products that provide functional as well as aesthetic benefits. Additionally, these materials last longer and weather more gracefully.
5. What are the benefits of Your turbine ventilators ?
Turbine Vents offer a low cost, Green solution to ventilating residential or commercial space. The Artis metals Turbine Vent is designed with a special spindle System that was originally patented in the 1960's and ensures a smooth, time enduring, rotation of the "bonnet" ; therefore providing consistent & quiet air Ventilation.
6. Why utilize metal vent caps & Ducting?
Over the past 20 years, the construction industry has seen a significant influx of lower cost plastic hvac products. From roof Caps, to Wall vents, to ducting. Plastic products have a tendency to become brittle and ultimately fail. A well made metal cap or duct will always outlast and outperform cheaper plastic products.
7. What Are Butterfly Backdraft Dampers Used For?
Butterfly Backdraft Dampers are used in fan Intake/Exhaust Applications. They prevent the flow of outside air into your structure through ducting, when either an exhaust fan or intake is off. The dampers are light aluminum with a foam seal and will accomplish protection with minimal effect on the exhaust stream while providing a good seal against backdrafts.
8. Where are your Products Manufactured
Our products are manufactured in Boise, ID in the same location our Founder Sam Artis Built in 1950 after relocating from the nearby town of Caldwell, Idaho. We've been a proud member of the boise business community since then and are committed to our employees, neighbors, suppliers and business partners locally, nationally, and Internationally.
9. Who do you Sell to?
Our primary line of business is the wholesale of products to suppliers & retailers in the HVAC, Roofing, Construction, and Chimney Industries across the country. We do specialized custom work for certain oEMs and contractors in the HVAC industry. Secondarily, we provide sheet metal products to industries outside of the HVAC. WE will field anyone's calls and if you are a Contractor, homeowner, or other customer that we cannot wholesale to; we will connect you with one of our distributors.
10. How do you become a customer and order?
We set up accounts for new customers if they would like to be invoiced or we take orders from customers and charge their credit card. Credit applications and available Online and for current customers we have an online order submittal form.
