Question: How Can I Keep My Home Exterior Paint to Look Good for 10 Years?

Answer: First make sure you do a good job pressure washing. Next make sure you cut out all old and cracked caulking from the joints and then refill with good quality caulking. Then use a paint that has a lifetime warranty, and not a paint with a 10-year warranty. The lifetime warranty product will fade much less, and retain that rich color for 8 or 10 years depending on the color. An expensive product can easily fade in 2 or 3 years so look for that lifetime warranty on the label. If you hire a contractor simply ask where they purchased their paint and you can call and ask about the quality.
