Question: Is Mold Hazardous To Human Health?

Answer: We live with mold on a daily basis. Some people are allergic to certain species of mold. The danger of mold is a function of an individual's sensitivity to it.

Most molds do not harm healthy people unless the area of contamination is larger than a square foot or two; however people with an immune suppression or underlying lung disease may be more susceptible to infections. Coming in contact with mold for a long period of time will also cause problems even in otherwise healthy people. Anyone who believes health problems are the result of exposure to mold should contact a physician.
