Question: What Are Some Shared Characteristics Between Diabetes And Eating Disorders?

Answer: Weight loss and weight gain are two common characteristics shared by individuals suffering from eating disorders and diabetes. Prior to being diagnosed, diabetics often experience noticeable weight loss. However, subsequent insulin injections can cause them to gain their weight back. Hence, some diabetics become torn between looking good and feeling good. This dilemma, in addition to watching what they eat, pressures them to ultimately choose between being thin and being healthy.
