Kidney cancer is often
asymptomatic, but may cause abdominal or flank pain, or
blood in the urine.
How is kidney cancer
diagnosed?
Usually by a combination
of history, physical examination, imaging studies (e.g.
CT Scan, Ultrasound) and, less frequently, by biopsy of
the kidney tumor.
Are there different
types of kidney cancer?
Yes … there are multiple
sub-types of kidney cancer that require different
treatments and have different prognoses.
What is Renal Cell
Carcinoma?
Renal cell carcinoma is
the most common form of kidney cancer.
How many stages of

There are several
different staging systems for kidney cancer.
Historically there are for stages … with Stage 4 being
