What is broadcast fax?

Broadcast fax is taking a single document and transmitting it to multiple destinations, based on the information that the customer has provided.

What is API fax?

It enables you to use your CRM to fax without a fax line or anything beyond a connection to the Internet. You could use Salesforce or an Oracle database, or any customer management software program and send a fax from any given CRM record to a fax recipient through our API interface.

What is fax relay?

Fax Relay is receiving a fax and forwarding it to an e-mail address. For example you can receive a fax without actually having a fax machine or a fax line, and it would be automatically deposited into your e-mail inbox as a PDF or as a TIF and you can view that fax without actually having a fax machine.

Can you explain what it means to go green with your type of service?

Yes, you can actually eliminate the need for paper fax and the electricity that the fax machine uses, this is accomplished by receiving faxes in your e-mail inbox.

Is this a safe service to use?

Yes it is, it is typically safer than e-mail because it cannot be hacked. There is not a way for anyone to get into your fax, it's not available via Internet. It uses traditional telecom lines typically so there's not any connection to the Internet in terms of the fax broadcast service. So there is much more security than if you were to disseminate your information via e-mail. Works very well for HIPAA compliance and other medical records.

Do you feel these communication tools are affordable for the average company?

Compared to postal mail for example if you were to send your invoices via fax as opposed to postal mail, the Westfax API could actually be a perfect way to do that because we could connect with QuickBooks or any sort of accounting program via the Westfax API. This would enable you to send your invoices via fax him at a fraction of what it would cost to send them via postal mail. You would also get paid quicker as well because obviously they would receive their invoices immediately as opposed to the three or five day delay that would occur with postal mail.

What are the pros and cons to using this service?

It's already opened mail so it doesn't require that you go to the mailbox and sift through a bunch of junk mail to receive your invoice or other information that you might want to disseminate. A fax still creates urgency in receiving it, it's different from e-mail or even postal mail. When a fax comes in there's an urgency to reading that fax, as opposed to spam filters and other elements involved with e-mail that's not an issue with fax. It goes directly to the fax machine and even if somebody's going to throw it away it has to be read, it demands to be read.

How would you compare Westfax to an online fax service?

We are not an online fax service, in terms of our fax broadcast service it is really just service, Westfax has a business model of using individual account managers in our tech support department to help process orders, they develop relationships with our customers in a way that creates complete reliance on the human element and we can help with database deduping or other elements that are competitors and online fax services just don't offer.

Do you offer customer service?

We are constantly hearing from our customers about how happy they are with our model of individual account managers. When somebody becomes a Westfax customer they are assigned an individual account manager that manages every aspect of their account. This is really unique in our industry, people don't typically assigned account managers, they just submit orders online and they deal with some nameless customer service folks. We actually work toward making that relationship stronger every day, our customers become completely reliant upon our customer service department and we hear compliments almost every day from our customers.
