Question: How Can Mold Be Identified?

Answer: The first clue is usually a musty, dirty or earthy odor. Next, look for small black, green, or white specks along the moist area. Mold can be hidden behind wall coverings, ceiling tiles and inside structural cavities.

If you believe there is mold or mildew in a concealed area of your home, hire a mold expert to test your home. Oftentimes they will use an infrared camera to see if there is mold growth hiding in your walls, basement, etc.
