Question: What Differentiates An Independent Shop From A Car Dealer For Vehicle Maintenance?

Answer: Independently owned auto shops and businesses are much more cost effective than dealerships. For example, at Upscale Auto, our labor charge is approximately $100 an hour compared to the dealers which charge around $145 an hour. In addition to better rates, Upscale Auto is proud to employ several Master Mechanics that have decades of experience while many car dealers have hired less experienced young mechanics. Dealerships train their mechanics to replace parts; Upscale Auto mechanics diagnose, repair whenever possible, and replace as a last resort. When dealers replace parts they limit their scope to factory parts, whereas independent shops will use the best value and best quality parts among all manufacturers.
