Question: What Is Phonics?

Answer: The word phonics refers to the relationship between the letters that we see in written words and the sounds that we hear when those words are spoken. For example, knowing that the letter b usually makes the "b" sound, as in baby, is an aspect of phonics, as is knowing that the letter a can stand for a few different sounds.
